The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal of
China passes through Yangliuqing Town of
Tianjin. As the population increases, the
town needs to build a community center on
Yuanbao Island for people to gather,
showing talents and sharing interests.
It is a community center of the Grand
Canal. One of the most interesting
experience on canal is the ships passing
through the bridges’ apertures when visual,
auditory and tactile sense changes. This
design focuses on the theme of canal and
transform the spatial experience into a
public space with varied scenes.
